Marian Y. Woods, MBA, serves as the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. (NCBW), National Third Vice President of Membership and Chapter Development, elected at the NCBW Biennial Conference in 2021. In addition, she served as a member of the NCBW National Board of Directors from 2019 to 2021. Marian has served at the national level since 2011. Her previous appointments include serving as a co-chair of the National Chapter Development Committee, chair of the national bylaws committee, and a member of the national policies and procedures, LEAD Academy, public policy, and education committees.
Marian is a member of the NCBW MECCA Chapter and has been a member of NCBW since October 2010. She is a Past President of the MECCA Chapter. She has served in the capacity of the MECCA Chapter Third Vice President, First Vice President, Director of Education and Mentoring, and has chaired numerous committees. In addition, Marian served as a member of the MECCA Chapter Board of Directors consecutively since December 2010.
Marian is an author, speaker, thought leader, producer, and global corporate executive with over thirty years of business experience specializing in human resource management, leadership development, and business transformation. She worked as senior-level human capital professional for such Fortune 500 companies as AT&T, Verizon, and The Hartford. For the past twelve years, she has operated in the capacity of head of human resources. Marian recently served as the Commissioner of Human Resources for the City of Atlanta and a member of Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms’ Cabinet. Currently, Marian is the CEO of Propel Enterprises LLC, a human resource consulting firm comprised of transformation professionals who elevate people and integrate human capital. Marian Y. Woods, also known as Lady Propel, is My Girlfriends, Inc. (MGI). MGI is a registered Georgia non-profit organization that provides personal and professional development for women who find themselves in a proverbial holding pattern, unable to incite advancement. In addition, Marian is the Executive Producer and host of the Propel Leadership Development Summit (Propel LDS) for Women and the Venus & Mars Summit (VMS) for Couples.
In addition to her undergraduate work in Psychology, Marian holds a BS in Organizational Management and an MBA in Human Resource Management. Marian is currently a doctoral student working on her Doctor of Business Administration in Leadership degree at Walden University. Marian is a Leadership Atlanta alum, member of The Class of 2017. She previously served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Fulton County Boys & Girls Clubs. In addition, Marian is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae Chapter.
