NCBW members from across the country gather for two days in the nation’s capital for the organization’s annual Legislative Days. The event is hosted by NCBW’s local chapters in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, and features notable speakers. NCBW’s National President and the organization’s members meet with lawmakers and staffers on Capitol Hill, as well as with senior leaders of corporations and civic organizations. Discussions focus on what lawmakers and organization leaders are working on and issues that are positively impacting Black women and girls.
NCBW’s annual Leadership Conference is known for its lineup of timely, inspiring, insightful, engaging, and relevant training. Organized by the Leadership Conference Committee, Vice Presidents, and National Committees, this event is about organizational skills development and continuous personal and professional improvement. The conference experience provides members with creative, crucial, and proven solutions to the most relevant issues facing the communities NCBW serves. It’s an opportunity for the organization to come together and address the challenges at hand while engaging in activities to connect, inspire, educate, and inform – all while honoring NCBW’s history and strengthening members’ skills.
Considered to be the organization’s marquee event, an average of 750+ NCBW members attend the national Biennial Conference, traveling from major cities across the country, including Orlando, New York, New Jersey, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
