The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. to Host its 2024 Legislative Day: “Empowering Black Voices: Advocating for Equitable Opportunities, Voting Rights, and Economic Justice.”

Atlanta, Georgia, April 19, 2024 – The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. (NCBW) will host its 2024 Virtual Legislative Day on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST. The event theme, “Empowering Black Voices: Advocating for Equitable Opportunities, Voting Rights, and Economic Justice,” will include esteemed guests from around the country.

The online event will honor remarkable individuals committed to promoting racial and social justice. Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware will receive the esteemed People’s Champion Lifetime Award, celebrating her remarkable accomplishments and impactful contributions. U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgia will be presented with the Pioneer for Progress Award, recognizing his unwavering dedication to fighting injustice and advocating for policies that promote fairness and inclusivity for marginalized groups.

Distinguished speakers and panelists will include Illinois Congresswoman Robin Lynne Kelly, White House Senior Advisor & Director of Public Engagement Stephen K. Benjamin, Dr. Michele Halyard, Co-Founder of the Coalition of Blacks Against Cancer and renowned oncologist Angela Riemer, Vice President of Global Policy and Public Affairs at Pfizer, Kendal K. Whitlock, Head of Digital Optimization RWE Clinical Trials at Walgreens, Nishith Pandya, Director of Federal Relations for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Lesley Hill, Public Affairs Senior Manager at Symetra, and award-winning author and international speaker renowned for her expertise in advocacy and leadership development for women in politics, Chonya Johnson.

Other illustrious participants will be Alabama Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, National Council of Negro Women President and CEO Shavon Arline-Bradley, and NAACP VP Unit Advocacy and Effectiveness Phaedra Jackson.

“We are looking forward to our members joining us from all across the country as we amplify voices, honor champions, and advocate for a future of equity and justice as we highlight the pivotal role of community engagement and collaborative efforts in fostering positive change.
